Missionary Ministry

The Missionary Ministry of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, East St. Louis, IL is an organization  composed of the members of Mt. Zion to enlist  and direct the religious energies of all the members of the church into definite lines of church work.  The object of the ministry is to stimulate a missionary spirit in the members of the church through prayer, increased knowledge of the Bible, study of missions, organized form of personal service for the needy and systematic contributions to the National Baptist Convention program and general benevolences as are undertaken by the church. To aid the pastor in his numerous labors.

Vision Statement:  We believe as a Ministry, we are called by God to reach the lost,(Mission), to witness to others, (Evangelism), to nurture those who have joined our fellowship and to study God’s word so that we may be better disciples of Christ (Education).

We believe as a Ministry, we will administer the Ministry of Helps (each taskforce will be assigned a specific month to implement these objectives). This will be done by:

♦ Visiting the Sick and the Nursing Home
♦ Will assist with Greeting and accommodating the bereaved families as requested before and after funeral.
♦ Provide for the less fortunate among us with food, clothing and household items as requested
♦ Teach and Train and Nurture our Mission Youth in the ways of God
